CARMEN® BOX
AI Edge Network Device to Add ANPR and MMR Capacity to Any Camera

Transform Any CCTV into License Plate Capture Camera for Powerful Traffic Monitoring
HIGHLIGHTED FEATURES
Centralised ANPR Processing
Runs Carmen® ANPR and vehicle recognition on a dedicated hardware unit rather than on the camera.
Multi‑Camera Support
Processes streams from multiple cameras in parallel, making it suitable for larger or multi‑lane sites.
Flexible System Architecture
Allows standard IP cameras to be used as capture devices while recognition is handled centrally.
High Recognition Accuracy
Uses the full Carmen® engine for reliable plate and vehicle data across varied lighting and traffic conditions.
Open Integration Interfaces
Outputs recognition data via well‑documented APIs for connection to access control, parking, enforcement, or back‑office systems.
Scalable Deployment
Supports system growth by adding cameras without changing the overall processing model.
Reduced Edge Hardware Requirements
Removes the need for ANPR capability on each camera, simplifying camera selection and replacement.

INTEGRATION OVERVIEW
Centralised Processing Model
Carmen BOX is designed as a central ANPR processing unit, running the Carmen® recognition engine on dedicated hardware. Cameras act as image sources, while all licence plate and vehicle recognition is handled centrally on the BOX.
Camera Integration
The system accepts streams from standard IP cameras, allowing flexibility in camera selection and placement. This makes Carmen BOX well suited to multi‑lane, high‑throughput, or retrofit installations where edge‑based ANPR cameras are not required or practical.
Network and Deployment
Carmen BOX connects directly to the local network via Ethernet and is typically deployed within a server room, cabinet, or control environment. Centralised processing reduces edge hardware requirements and simplifies maintenance and upgrades across larger sites.
Data Output and Integration
Recognition results are made available through documented interfaces for integration with access control, parking management, traffic, and security platforms. Plate reads, vehicle data, and event information can be consumed by third‑party systems or Adaptive Recognition software.
System Scalability
Carmen BOX supports scalable system design, allowing additional cameras to be added without changing the overall architecture. This makes it suitable for growing sites or systems where processing needs to scale independently of camera hardware.
