A New Era of Mobile ANPR | The World’s First Electric 2x2 LPR Platform
This project demonstrates Lynet’s flexibility in a world‑first fully electric, two‑wheel mobile ANPR platform built in New Zealand. By integrating the Lynet camera with a UBCO 2×2 electric utility bike, Image Analytics Pacific proved that reliable mobile ANPR and vehicle recognition can operate beyond traditional patrol cars, enabling low‑impact enforcement in areas such as campuses, pedestrian zones, car parks, and parks. The system delivered accurate, real‑time plate reads at speed, day and night, all from a compact, self‑contained, zero‑emissions platform.
INTEGRATION OVERVIEW
Edge Processing
Lynet is designed as a self‑contained mobile ANPR device. License plate recognition and vehicle data (make, model, colour, category) are processed directly on the camera using the onboard Carmen® ANPR engine. No central ANPR server or external processing hardware is required, making Lynet ideal for vehicle‑mounted and rapidly deployed systems.
Power and Connectivity
Lynet connects via Ethernet and is powered using PoE+, typically via an in‑vehicle router or PoE injector. This single‑cable approach simplifies vehicle installations and allows the camera to operate as part of a compact mobile system using 4G/5G backhaul, without fixed network infrastructure.
Event‑Driven Data Output
Recognition results are generated on the device and delivered as structured events rather than raw video streams. Plate reads and vehicle metadata can be pushed in real time or pulled on demand, enabling efficient integration with enforcement, parking, or monitoring platforms while minimising bandwidth usage.
System Integration
Lynet integrates directly with Adaptive Recognition software ecosystems and third‑party systems via well‑documented APIs and event streams. It is commonly deployed within mobile enforcement, parking, traffic monitoring, and fleet solutions, either as a standalone unit or as part of a wider multi‑device system.
