Vehicle Access Control

Overview
Vehicle access control systems use licence plates as identifiers to manage entry and exit at secured locations. ANPR replaces physical credentials, enabling automated, contactless authentication and improving operational efficiency.
The system performs real-time matching against defined lists and triggers access decisions without operator intervention. All vehicle movements are logged with full metadata for traceability. Deployments range from single entry points to multi-site enterprise systems.
Key Capabilities
-
Plate-Based Identification: Uses licence plates as unique credentials
-
Whitelist / Blacklist Matching: Controls access based on predefined lists
-
Real-Time Decision Logic: Supports immediate barrier or gate actions
-
Event Logging: Maintains audit records with timestamps and images
-
System Integration: Connects to access control and building management systems
Integration Considerations
-
Low latency is required to ensure seamless vehicle flow at access points
-
Local decision-making (edge processing) improves reliability during network outages
-
Integration with controllers (e.g. gates, barriers) must support real-time triggers
-
Database synchronisation is required for distributed sites
-
Failover modes should be considered for system resilience
